MND Queensland's services are provided through member support, community donations and a small amount of government funding.  Due to our limited resources, our staff work part-time so please understand if we cannot always respond to your needs immediately. We will certainly do our best. 

MND Queensland's services include:

Information and education

 

Our small team can provide you with information about motor neurone disease, services in Queensland, current research and upcoming events (such as information nights and  awareness-raising events).

Support

Our care adviser can offer you information and advice about living with MND as well as suggestions for other services you may need over time.  

Equipment loan

We have a pool of specialist aids and equipment that are available to members to help maintain independence and quality of life.  However please note that numbers are limited and our waiting lists are often long. 

Social support

In some areas MND Queensland members get together to offer each other social support. As well as sharing their own journeys, social support groups can help to break down the sense of isolation that can be felt by people living with MND and their families.  Some also actively raise funds for research or to support the work of MND Queensland.
Currently there are social support groups that met regularly  - usually on weekends - in the following areas
Darling Downs (Toowomba)
Gold Coast
North Brisbane and Caboolture
Sunshine Coast
Gympie/Tin Can Bay
Maryborough
